As a family Christmas treat my Mum and Dad booked us tickets for a ride on the Polar Express. Now I am guessing that most people have seen the Polar Express film or read the book and if you haven’t you should!
We all turned up to the station in our pyjamas, just like in the film. Once on board there were lots of singing and dancing and story telling. The conductor came and stamped patterns in our ticket, just like the film, its all very magical. Hot chocolate and cookies were served by the dancing chefs just before the train arrived at the North Pole. It was lovely to see Honey’s little face when she spotted Santa.
Once Santa was on the train he spoke with each child, asking them what they wanted for Christmas and gave them each a silver bell.
When we arrived back at the station I brought myself a silver bell decoration which I thought would be a perfect memory of the trip which I could hang on my Christmas tree each year.
This was such a lovely family trip and we will definitely be going again next year.
Merry Christmas everyone and remember, the bell still rings for those who truly believe.
I can’t believe my beautiful niece is nearly 4. Her birthday is not until 17th December but she has had her party this weekend. Her party theme was My Little Pony, I love that Honey is starting to play with toys that I used to play with when I was younger.
With this being her 4th birthday party it was only right that I made her a 4 tier cake!
After her princess castle cake and now a 4 tier My Little Pony cake I am going to struggle to top it when she turns 5! 🙂
A couple of weeks ago my visit to the Christmas Fayre in Derby to buy Christmas gifts turned into me buying things for myself! I wasn’t to sure what to expect but I was really impressed with lots of the stalls there. I could have spent a small fortune.
I thought I would run through my favourites for you, go and take a look as they all have some lovely gift ideas.
The Little Dog
These guys had some seriously cute baby gifts. The Little Rufus collection is adorable. I have seen these products at another fayre a couple of months ago and totally fell in love with them then. They are so different to any other baby things that I have seen. I have a feeling that I will be placing a rather large order once my nephew is born. Me and my Mum have already been arguing about who is buying what! The Little Rufus range that I have mentioned includes t-shirts, romper suits and matching hats, rattles, comforters, books and soft toys. Even their packaging is gorgeous.
This stall sold personalised painted wooden signs. I have seen quite a few of these around recently and I know they are quite easy to get your hands on, the reason I wanted to mention this company is because they are by far the nicest that I have seen. I have had a look on their website and they do some beautiful gifts too. An excellent place to start your Christmas shopping.
Another stall where I could have spent all my money. I was trying to think of how I could describe this company and all I could come up with was ‘interior design gorgeousness’. I brought that many Christmas decorations from them that I think I may need a bigger tree!
So those were my favourite stalls from the Christmas Fayre. Please take a look at their websites, there are some lovely gifts ideas for Christmas.
